EQAVETNRP SLO 2026 – 2029
Project type
Programme: Erasmus+ (ERASMUS)
Call: ERASMUS-EDU-2026-EQAVET-IBA – Support to the European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET) National Reference Points (NRPs)
Project acronym: EQAVETNRP SLO 2026
Grant Agreement No.: 101320081
Type of action: Erasmus+ Lump Sum Grants (ERASMUS-LS)
Project coordinator: Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training (CPI)
Project duration: 1 September 2026 – 31 August 2029 (36 months)
The project is implemented under the Erasmus+ Programme with financial support from the European Union.
Project purpose
The main purpose of the project is to strengthen and further develop quality assurance and quality development in vocational education and training (VET) in Slovenia, in line with the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET).
The project addresses the needs of VET providers and national stakeholders by supporting internal quality assurance systems, promoting self-evaluation and encouraging the systematic use of evaluation findings to plan and monitor improvements.
It also aims to strengthen quality assurance at the system level through international cooperation, peer reviews and research. Particular attention is given to current European priorities, especially basic skills, active citizenship and democratic values in VET.
Project activities
The project is organised into four interconnected work packages (WPs).
WP1 – Project management, coordination and quality assurance
This work package covers the planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of project activities, ensuring their effective implementation and the quality of project results.
WP2 – Promotion, communication and dissemination
This work package focuses on increasing the visibility of the EQAVET Framework, the Slovenian National Reference Point and the support available to VET providers.
The main activities include:
- maintaining and upgrading the EQAVET NRP Slovenia website, improving its functionality, accessibility and user experience;
- monitoring website traffic and user engagement to improve communication effectiveness;
- preparing and disseminating newsletters for VET providers;
- promoting project activities and results through conferences, professional events, fairs and other communication channels;
- strengthening cooperation with national stakeholders and European networks, including Europass, ReferNet and EQF.
WP3 – Support to VET providers in quality assurance and quality development
This work package provides direct support to VET institutions and teachers through three main activities.
- Further development and implementation of guided online self-evaluation (EPoS)
The project will update the EPoS digital platform and its self-evaluation questionnaires to reflect current national and European priorities.
Two guided online self-evaluation campaigns will be implemented in 2027 and 2029, supporting VET providers in collecting and analysing data, identifying areas for improvement and developing evidence-based action plans. Participating institutions will receive professional guidance and training throughout the process.
- Development of teacher training modules on active citizenship
Two professional development modules will be developed to strengthen teachers’ competences in promoting active citizenship, democratic values and student participation in VET.
Selected parts of the modules will be piloted through regional workshops to test the materials and gather feedback from teachers.
- Development of didactic models for integrating basic skills into teaching and learning
The project will develop and pilot didactic models for integrating basic skills into vocational teaching and learning.
Practical learning situations will be designed in four sectors: horticulture, mechatronics, catering and tourism, and economics. The developed approaches and examples will be presented in a practical manual for VET teachers.
WP4 – Support to quality assurance arrangements at the VET system level
This work package focuses on strengthening national quality assurance arrangements through international peer reviews and research-based evidence.
- Peer reviews of quality assurance at the VET system level
Slovenia will participate in European peer reviews aimed at evaluating and improving quality assurance arrangements at the system level. The activities will support mutual learning, the exchange of good practices and the development of recommendations for further improvements, including an assessment of progress following previous peer reviews.
- Research on the role of quality assurance in promoting active citizenship
The project will investigate VET teachers’ readiness and support needs in promoting active citizenship among students.
The findings will help identify challenges and professional development needs and provide an evidence base for recommendations and further improvements in quality assurance and teacher support.
Expected results and impact
The project will contribute to stronger internal quality assurance systems, more effective self-evaluation and a systematic use of evidence for continuous improvement.
Through digital tools, teacher training modules, didactic models and practical guidance, it will provide VET providers and teachers with concrete support for improving educational practices.
At the system level, peer reviews and research findings will support evidence-informed decision-making and the further development of national quality assurance arrangements.
Beyond individual project outputs, the project aims to strengthen a sustainable culture of quality, where self-evaluation, stakeholder participation and continuous improvement become integral parts of VET.
Project results and experiences will be shared through national and European networks, professional events and digital communication channels to encourage their wider use and long-term sustainability.
